Darce from the Sprawl

Brandon "Never Quit" Quick, Chief Instructor of 10th Planet Dallas Ft. Worth shows how to get the Darce choke from the sprawl position:

  • Step 1
    • Brandon has the sprawl position on his partner, his partner still has a grip on one of his legsm Brandon pushes his partners head down with his left hand
  • Step 2
    • Brandon falls to his hip tight to his partner and "Uppercuts" his right arm as deep as possible across the opposite side of his partner's neck, Brandon also pushes his partners head down as far as possible with his opposite hand
  • Step 3
    • at the same time Brandon shoots his arm across for the underhook, he brings his right knee up to prevent his partner from freeing his arm
  • Step 4
    • Brandon Fig 4's his arms as deep and tight as possible
  • Step 5
    • Brandon scoots his hips under bridges his hips up, pinches his arm tight, and takes a deep breath to expand his chest to finish the Darce

unorthodox, i like it, it just seems that if u missed the choke u just gave up everything.

I learned that set up at a Renzo Gracie seminar a couple years ago. Awesome setup but you do need to be careful about securing that arm

It's an option but to keep a safer position most grapplers would stay on top and roll them on their back the opposite way. this would probably be good against wrestlers who haven't seen someone put their shoulders on the mat for what they would expect to be a 3/4 nelson.
