Easy Leg Flow

There are 5 basic leglocks, The Straight Leg Lock, Knee Bar, Compression Lock, Toe Hold and Heel Hook. This drill is a easy Lockflow for the Straight Leg to Heel Hook to Toe Hold.

  • Step 1
  • June starts on her back with an open guard, Emma stands in front covering her knee and grabbing June's ankle.
  • Step 2
  • Emma pushes June's knee to the mat as she closes distance and wraps her left arm around June's right leg.
  • Step 3
  • Emma quickly throws her left foot over June's right hip as she falls to her right hip.
  • Step 4
  • Emma pinches her knees together and arches her hips forward to finish the straight foot lock (achilies lock)
  • Step 5
  • Emma pulls her left hand out from under June's leg while keeping June's toes wrapped under her armpit. Emma then place her left wrist under June's heel and grips her palms together.
  • Step 6
  • Once the heel hook is in place, Emma again squeezes her knees twists June's heel to the right as she pulls the foot close to her and arches into the lock.
  • Step 7
  • Emma takes her left hand and pushes June's toes over her left hip (maintaining the bend in June's leg)and scoots her hips out to the right
  • Step 8
  • Emma grips her left wrist with her right hand by reaching over June's leg and under her foot.
  • Step 9
  • Emma finishes the flow by pulling her right elbow back as she twists to the left and pushes June's toes backwards with her left hand. (in a side note, Emma will need to be careful with her left foot on the mat during the flow, some people like to keep the foot on their opponent for better control and to protect from a counter leg lock)
