Ari finds himself in the "Lockdown" Position. Ari has his right underhook in this technique
Ari brings his left arm across his opponents head
Ari lifts his trapped (right) foot up, making sure that he points his toes
Ari passes his foot over the top of his opponent's foot and puts the ball of his foot to the mat
Ari switches his weight to his left side and puts the sole of his right foot to the mat
Ari puts his right hand on his opponent's left knee
Ari pushes with his right hand as he pulls his right leg out of the half guard
Having passed the Lockdown, Ari now works for side control

As always lots of options well presented.
Being attacked is like being asked a question- if you answer right you won't get asked anymore questions.
You would be in an arm triangle at step 2 where you would be swept the bottom player would be in side control. Explain how this is good?
Grapplebot:
the Apollo Sweep (as we call it in the 10thP system) is basically an Arm Triangle sweep from the bottom. The pictures don't fully explain weight distribution.
There are small details that always seem to get lost in translation. Arm Triangle from the bottom position where leverage isn't on your side is not the best option.
You CAN keep your hand on the other side of the head, just make sure you lean over a bit more to count balance the pass.
Understand the concern but this is a rather high % pass (twister SC pass almost)
Hope that helps and hell...if you hate it, that's cool...options

grapplebot,
This is a pretty high percentage half-guard pass. Some of my details vary from Ari's, but that's more of a different strokes for different folks sort of thing. The fundamentals are the same:
Flick the foot beyond the lockdown and turn your hips toward the leg that's trapped to work it free. If you're super concerned about the arm triangle from the bottom, bring your elbow into their arm part (rather than against their head) and keep your head low to keep them from hooking it.
Good stuff Ari.
