Handcuff Triangle
The Handcuff Triangle is a technique that I developed when I was training at Eddie Bravo's 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu in Hollywood CA.
Once I have my opponent broken down I use what I call the Cobra Control to hold him in place. You have an overhook on one of your opponents arms and the other arm is at his neck holding him down.
If they post their hand on the mat to regain their posture you keep the overhook and control his wrist with your free hand. Then you handcuff em in order to set up the Triangle.

Then you feed their left wrist to your left hand which has the overhook in the Handcuff position. You want to keep the everything as tight as possible. I am allowing some space in the pictures so that you can see the grips.

you should be able to sweep once you grab there left wrist with your left, once you have top mount you still have that overhook you can extend and pull off an arm lock
though the triangle as presented looks good, plus i would assume they would try to post with there head should i roll them from that position

I used to do a triangle very similar to this one... except I learned it from a MMA book from Rodrigo Gracie. I usually had really good success with it. But, this variation seems like it would work a little better since you are pushing on their elbow.

Never saw this in any book. Started doing this while sparring at Eddie Bravo's school back in '07.
I have a few other things I do from the Handcuff Control and it is great for striking from the ground.

I use a triangle like that but I usually grab my own wrist with my overhooked hand. It is also good from half guard.
Yeah, I just recently changed the way that I grip where I grab my own wrist too.

Doesn't your overhook get a bit loose when you push their left hand all the way through??? Cause I would imagine if their wrist is all the way across and you are holding it then your overhook won't be as tight. and he could possibly power out.... Looks like a good possible armbar setup from that postition too...

No, the overhook doesn't get loose. As I said in one of the captions above I left space in the pics so people could see what I'm doing.
Wehn you do it live you want it as tight as possible with the persons posture broken as much as possible.

Yea, the one I speak of is slightly different, but I don't think it's quite as strong as your variation. Everything from step 1-4 is exactly the same. Then, it changes a bit... you then figure-four grip your right wrist with your left hand and use the combined strength of both arms to push their arm through. That make sense???

Nice setup
I was playing with this last weekend. But instead of letting go of his left arm, I pulled it tight under his armpit and kept it there. I then angled my body at a 45 degree from his head and before I can get my legs in the triangle position, the lock was so tight, my student almost began throwing up on me. He coughed up so much phlem it was like I had choked a camel.
i've been playing with this recently and i like it. i have shorter legs than most so this has been a great help with my triangles.
