Jean Jacques Machado Shows You Two Escapes From Side Control

I have only trained one day in a gi, and that was about 15 years ago. I may not train gi, but i can appreciate all the benefits it has to offer and the many different options that using all the levers and handles of a gi can provide. I can also really appreciate these two side control escapes shown by Jean Jacques Machado. Props to BlackBeltMAg.com for the video and LF member Oninja for the find.

I don't know if I could pull those off (against a resisting opponent) but it does give me an idea I'll have to try tonight...

That 2nd sweep into the crusafix is sweet!

That's the one I am going to try. (using the kimora to help set up the spin).

cool, update us tonight on how it goes!

well with the first one your not using so much strength. Your using the momentum of your opponent and pushing it in a different direction.

I really like the first one, but I can't see myself landing it too often, I'm definitely going to try to play with these for a while though.

Groovy.

Nice. I am going to watch this a million times and see if I can pull off either of these at Judo one of these weeks (no Judo this week for me, too much work Sad )

My favorite choke is baseball bat choke from guard, which I learned by watching a YouTube video a million times. I'm the only one who ever uses it at my classes. I learn much better from YouTube watching than from a one-time in-class demo.

I have pulled the first one (not 100% the same, but very similar) off many times in training and competition. Not just from the attempt at guardpassing but also from side control and half-guard.

Getting smothered in side control by good wrestlers is my kryptonite. I need every idea I can get. Thanks!

RETARD STRENF!

Wow, that first one is really slick and I feel like the second one to the crucifix would be really hard in nogi...
But, I gotta try both nonetheless.
