Kimura stalemate

Here is a basic stalemate technique that you can use in case your opponent catches you in a kimura from their guard position:

  • Step 1
  • Tony is in Nate's guard, Tony has put his hand on the mat
  • Step 2
  • Nate grabs Tony's right wrist with his left hand
  • Step 3
  • Nate sits up and wraps his right arm over Tony's arm to secure his grip for the kimura
  • Step 4
  • seeing that he is in trouble, Tony quickly steps up onto his right foot
  • Step 5
  • Tony grabs the inside of his right knee with his right hand, making it difficult for Nate to finish the submission
  • Step 6
  • keeping ahold of his knee, Tony drops his right knee down and back with his weight on top of the grip. Nate now finds that he has a difficult time with this move and decides to move on to another technique

for step 6, itz right knee not 'ring' knee, right?

天下無難事,只怕有心人

izzit possible to do step over triangle after step 6..??

The strong man is not the one who wrestles, but controls himself in a fit of rage.

i think you can still finish the kimura even if he grabs the back of his knee like that...just adjust your hip and use it to push the hands out...possible??

"Really eh?"

From step 6, the guy on top now needs to sit back and try to work his head through under the arm to complete his escape...

"By their very nature all fighters are noble. Stripped to the waist they lay their souls open every time they enter the ring. Bravery, dreams, dread, toughness, fear, courage and at times even surrender are all on display for anyone who cares to watch"

yeah this will stop the kimura from being sunk.... you have to be carefull though that the guy wont swing his hips around and kimra the other arm, or, while the head is nice and low
like in pic 6, use front choke.

Top guy should be trying to push down bottom guys right leg with his other, untrapped arm after step 6. Push that leg down and walk over it to cross body. It will un-torque his arm and give him dominant position. *Doesn't work on guys with long legs who keep their guard closed with a Kimura.

Killbot's got the right idea. I like that!!!

chaz you said your next section was going to be on the toe hold and applying it from different positions..

better than what i waz doing haha

Looks like transitioning to an omoplata around step 3 or 4 would continue the attack.

i think that stalemating a move isn't very good practice, especially something like this where while you are holding off you can get triangled, oma'd or gogo'd

"Buggrit, millenium hand and shrimp."

Some people just don't know what they are talking about.... Your move is nice, but make sure to add to arch your back giving leverage ableing you to set the kimura. locking the knee is smart too. Nice job.
