Neck Crank Option from Side Ride

I have been playing with the Side Ride position for a few months. Some of my grappling partners have been getting used to my set ups and finishes, so here is a nice move I discovered while trying to catch my guys.
If you have another option or questions please let me know, im always looking for something better!
Enjoy:
I start in the side ride position.
I crossface Billy, exposing his right arm...
I step my right foot inside of Billy's right arm
I drag my right foot back, trapping Billy's right arm
with my left hand, I reach under Billy's left armpit and grab his wrist
with Billy's arm trapped, I dive over my left shoulder... which should force Billy onto his back.
I capture Billy's arm with my left foot
I triangle my left foot so that I can control Billy's arm as I shimp out - so I have a better angle to attack Billy
I throw my right leg over Billy's head and squeeze my knees together as I grab the headrest with my left hand
keeping the headrest, I reach under Billy's left arm...
... and I keep reaching around until Billy's arm is trapped behind my right armpit.
I thin take my right leg off Billy's head and put my knee on the other side of Billy's head and pull his head towards me...
when I get Billy's head close enough, I reach my right hand behind his head
I then grip my hands together and pull Billy's head towards me to finish the neck crank.

I got this very same crucifix sub last week from side ride. only I finished it with choke not a crank since we were wearing gis and I can't do neck cranks at our school. not until I'm a purple belt
great variation chaz...just to be more specific I finished it like it's a "kataha jime" with the other arm trapped between my legs.
I'll be playin, with this baby tonight

Bradley, missed you tonight at C3...
I use this up to what would be step 11. I have always been able to finish an armbar/shoulder lock from that position. The ability to move on to the neck crank in a nice option though. Thanks.

Very intresting! great set up!
Is it just me? I love neck cranks in NoGi but it seems like others at my gym dispise them. I developed a crank that is almost like the 100%. I came up with a few high percentage ways to set it up and to finish it.
Ive gotten so many people with it that everyone at my gym has given it its own name and trys to avoid being put into it..... although I feel like alot of people think that it along with other neck cranks = "dirty" grappling. I never over do it by any means, I always slowly apply the pressure until they slowly lose the ego and have to tap to it.
Any thoughts? Are neck cranks dirty?
well in competition they're only dirty if you know they're illegal and you do them any way(most of the time they do it masked with a choke). but in sparring I usually ask my sparring partners if they're ok with cranks. problem is if you mess up a crank sometimes the damage is serious and permanent. I just hate messin with necks...to me it's kinda like practicing eye gouging

this one is great! one of my favorite techniques! u can also set it up when someone trys a firemans carry on you!
