Omar Cruickshank Choke
A technique was sent to us with a submission from the mount position.
The contributor states:
"IF this is done correctly it will be like a vice on opponents neck"
-
Step 1
-
Step 2
-
Step 3
-
Step 4
Start from mount position with legs hooked together. Make sure legs are hooked underneath your opponents legs. Knees together. Hips heavy pushing downward.
Place left hand firmly on opponents right trap. Keep your elbows in underneath your body. Make sure your thumb is pressed against your pointer finger with knuckle sticking outward.
Take opponents left arm. Make sure it is tight between your neck and shoulder (this would be your left). Press your head against their left shoulder.
Slide your right arm into crease between neck and shoulder. Slide it across their chest, grab firmly your left wrist with your thumb underneath wrist. Pull in arms toward your body, pushing your right elbow outward.

this will only work if you are alot bigger and stronger...it is more effeciant to just do the arm-traingle
THE EGGS HAVE BEEN BROKEN!!!!

this choke works no matter what size my choke is tighter than the arm triangle dork
and choke is called the" Cruick" and its reallyworks
after my pops nickname
Doesn't seem effective. Looks real easy to defend against "his" left arm!!
I agree with those above. I am not sure this would be considered a high percentage technique, but I will still try it in my next grappling session.

i cant say much about this technique that hasnt been said already.
I had this tested on me. If I didn't try to defend it, it probably could get me. But with my right arm, I just could push my opponent off or defend against his arm. Most likely not a high percentage move, but thats for it non the less.

I gave a one. I definetly have a problem with this kind of moves, especially when presented as efficient... I mean, when you have the choice between, an old school but so efficient Ezekiel, why would you try this ? In fact if you're under, you could bridge to release the preassure of the weight. You could also use your left elbow to push your opponent head... There's many way to release the pressure...
In fact if I'm on a mount position and try a technique like that I would do an ezekiel or if I use the same technique guess what : (and look at picture 3) You're on the mount, you've got a straight arm... You know what will follow. I don't say that I don't like fancy moves or variation that would surprise your opponent and allow you to make him tap or take an advantage without taking too many risk...But I would not use a technique like that in a fight.
it's gone from 5 stars to 3
i have seen this done in person in a match and i feel that it is effective. The opponent didnt see it comingat all....
put it like this if u dont think it works i can show it works at NAGA on august 5
Good Luck at NAGA Big O!
if the choke is done right it works . Dont knock till u try it . I worked hard this move and it tight i have gotten it in matches.
thanks have u tryed to choke combat?
Please add pics from Naga of you getting it on someone. I would like to see it's effectiveness in competition. I have tried it a couple times here in the gym. Maybe It's a matter of body weight to make this effective. I just don't see it happening, but good luck either way in the tourney and if you get it on someone, please get some pics and put them up here on lockflow on the forum.

Not live, Big O.
Big O... what's your name!!??

It has nothing to do with weight, this choke can be done while standing up. I've seen it(and felt it) first hand, he showed this choke to alot of people and even let people try it out on him, even people much skinnier than him..like me, and it works no matter what size. I talked to him this week he said that him getting the choke on NAGA would be no problem.
Omar earnd 1st place at the
NAGA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - o 03/12/05 Division: NO-GI Men's Super Heavy Weight Intermediate
i will not be at NAGA anymore i jacked my ankle up
Sorry to hear that Omar, Did you do it while training?
Tried it out, I like it so far, plus if the bottom guy defends good, you have an easy armbar to transition to.

Making someone TAP is almost better than SEX!
Played around with it some more tonight, I have a slight modification to it now, that pretty much seals the deal. I take some pictures and submit them in later.

i look at it like this timing is everything so if you time it right you could get any move in but do you have the strength to finish it
The Strength issue is why I had a slight mod too it.... I get the pics in this week.

What's choke combat?
What if you add pressure to it by arching your hips into it.
"Tap snap or nap." -The submission fighters moddo and threat, but most of all its our way of life.
Let's all use proper grammar please.
I will destroy all that is evil so that which is good may flourish. That is why and who I fight. I don't fight for sport, usually.
YOU DON'T KNOW THA MAN! Do you have a grapple named after you, did you make up one? NO. I am no Pro, but I went up against this guy, and i didn't even see the Cruick coming! I woke up in the same spot, 4 hours later.

i have somehow missed this post. I love chokes like this. use them all the time to tap out pro's and high level grapplers. It is a matter of drilling them and learning propper hand placement for your body type.
Big O - glad to see you still on!
Yea man I will be on here for ever Lockflow forever.
THis is pretty funny; and yeh I have used it and it worked; gotta push the hips forward. ALso helps with a grape vine.
My preference is to go to an S- mount cuz to me there is more options, but its legit.
