One Armed Choke

A few of our wrestlers are have some great success with this choke, try it out and let us know what you think.

Chris and Nate tie up. Chris has Nate's head with his right hand.
Chris snaps down Nate's head
After the snap down, Chris wraps his right arm around Nate's neck and catches the left underhook
Making sure that his right hand is placed just under Nate's throat, Chris turns Nate over to his back using the left underhook for leverage
Chris puts all of his weight onto his right palm after flattening Nate out on his back
Chris put all of his weight into his right wrist, driving it into Nate's throat to get the tap.

Throat submission are like neck cranks... apply them slowly.

Ortiz beat a Japanese wrestler with this same move but I cant remember his name. I think its Ortiz's only submission win if Im not mistaken.

Now I remember, it was Yuki Kondo that Ortiz submitted with this move.

I think this submission works a lot better from the mounted position. If you are going against someone who has a very flexible neck or a very strong pain threshold the chances are that you wont submit them. It really depends on the guy you are fighting or rolling with.

this sub also works great from half guard, because your opponent feels safe but is around 20 seconds away from being slow choked (with application of proper pressure).

we did this a while back in class. slick, easy, also sets up a nice transition for an anaconda or a d'arce
