Sato Knee Crush
Rumina Sato is a well known fighter in Japan as well as around the world! He has been a fighter in Shooto Japan for over 10 years! This is just one of his many submissions. This one specifically he used in a combat wrestling competition in Japan!

Step 5
Here Rumina make sure to underhook the leg as he passes his opponents guard!
In this next stop he reaches behind his opponents neck and connects his hands together.
Sato switches his grip to a more effective hand on wrist grip for pulling!
Rumina next places his knee into the side of his opponents neck. You could also place your knee into the side of your opponents temple.
In this last step Sato pulls the neck into the knee as well pulling the leg which is underhooked closer to the head for the finish!

Well of course with Sato being my favorite fighter, im a huge fan of this technique! I'm going to try it tonight and play with it some more! I like how painful it is as well as how much control it has! I tried it once rolling and missed connecting my hands but was able to use it to take my opponents back! So hey...
play with it!

lol i remember last week when you couldnt even say his name.
You must be confused! I've been a sato fan for over a month now
Chaz told me about him after the last fight! Then i researched him a ton man! I was talking tons about him with Tony when he came back and that was early december! So see, sato fan for entirely 1 full month!
But i've become a huge fan and gained a lot of info in that time!

this is a great move, like someone said if you dont make them tap you atleast get a better position.
Love the move. Just your basic near side cradle with a knee to the temple...
Cradles are great counter to the beginning of triangles etc, but first have to get head to the side, lock em up, once locked it is hard for someone to get out, and then like the move shows, give em the knee and pull head. Great one!

I think what is important here is between step 2 and 3. I was having a hard time figuring out what he meant and had to look hard at the pic.
In reality, he has a basic hand grip and what crams the opponents knee to the face is when you eliminate the space by cinching up the cradle, by moving from hand lock to wrists (which could be done by grabbing both wrists as well), as without cinching this up, your opponent may be able to break the cradle with that allowed space, thus need to cinch it up.

I've seen him do it on a highlight vid before, but I didn't realize that he puts his own knee in the neck. Thought he just cranked his neck using his hands. This is even cooler though. WAR SATO!
Thanks for the post I like it, I always just past the leg and go for side control but I will try this out and see how good it works.
