Sneaky Bicep Slicer
Here is a technique that I "discovered" while grappling one day with some of my guys at the gym. I say "discovered", because I'm sure it has been done by someone else somewhere else before, it's just new to me. Let me know what you think and have fun!

I start in Side Control on Vern
I take my right hand and place it on my right ear, trapping Vern's left arm. AKA the "Headrest" position
I step up with my left foot, trapping Vern's ringht arm in tight to his head
I switch my hips while keeping the headrest position
I try to get Vern to grab or puch my right arm away, so I start bugging his face with my left hand
When Vern brings his right hand in front, I quickly grab his wrist with my left hand
I slide my hips back a little
I slide my left knee in-between my left arm and Vern's right arm, trapping his right arm to the mat with my left shin
I post my left hand on the mat to keep from being bucked off
I switch my feet, so that my right lower shin rest on the crook of Vern's right elbow.
I move my left leg so that I can grab Vern's right wrist with my left hand
I close my left thight into Vern's right forearm, making sure my hips stay low, so that Vern can't slip his right arm out
I wrap my left leg around my right foot
After the lock is secure, I walk my legs away from Vern's head as I lower my hips and rock forward to finish the submission. I could also go back to reaching under Vern's head and gripping my hands together.

wow cool move
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow"
thanks for the tech! Vern did not enjoy it, hahaha.
天下無難事,只怕有心人

Heelhook- Probally, I just like locking it in for better control.
this is almost the same setup from your last post, right??? the one where you would start blasting their face with your left knee...
Just the facts maam.
I like that cross over, I liked it also in the one with the knees to the face. Sweet setup.

Chaz, I use this all the time. What I do it get someone in Omoplate and let them roll out of it. As soon as they roll, I switch my knee across their bicep to get the same lock and underhook the far arm and pull the shoulder tight to my chest as I sit up. When I do that, they can never pull guard and it always sets up the far arm chicken wing, kimura and armbar. This is one of my "go-to" moves.
money!
This is a great move that I use quite a bit.
Sometimes finishing the slicer can be from this position, but threatening is great for setting up the far side kimura.
With that under hook, they sometimes lean in to you to relieve the pressure on the arm, or you can jerk them forward as you step over their head (keeping the arm pinned with the leg). With the arm pinned with the leg, it's easier to break the grip and finish the kimura, you can also use that pressure on the arm and the far underhook to flatten them back out if the kimura goes wrong.

Yeah, I really dig this set-up thanks Charlie!
I don't have to win every time, it doesn't bother me in the slightest to get tapped. So I'm able to learn the ins and outs without my ego getting in the way. - Eu

I will be giving it a try this morning at NoGi.
Worked well Chaz, Thanks!
looks great. Can't wait to try it.
This is my go to when in side control; i use this all the time because the guy on the bottom has to go all "Hulk" on you to get out. There is absolutely no need to figure four your legs. If you place the trapped hand against your hip and lean forward it will create enough pressure to finish. If you don't want to finish with the bicep slicer (after a while it is as simple as the up kimura), take your time, slow down, and think about what you want. All that time when you are or are not threatening anything else, the blood flow in the arm slows down so much; making the arm really tired. Thins to work with from here; up and down kimura, arm bar, triangle from the reverse top mount, the brabo and anaconda choke if you let them turn into you. This is a wicked awesome control move; not just a finisher!
Great stuff and so many options to flow to.

since seeing this move on here, I have tapped every single person at my gym with this with the exception of a few of the brown belts and my instructor. I love this move!
