"Thread The Needle" Triangle

You attain the mount position, go for the armbar, and then your opponent grabs their own hand in a death grip. This is a great submission technique to catch your opponent off guard.

  • Step 1
  • June has gone for the armbar. Kim grabs her own wrist to prevent the extension.
  • Step 2
  • June reaches her right arm through Kim's grip and grabs her left leg. June then leans to her left to force an oppening in Kim's arms.
  • Step 3
  • June steps her right foot through the opening she created and places it next to Kim's neck.
  • Step 4
  • June steps her left foot over Kim's head as she slides her right heel to the left side of Kim's neck.
  • Step 5
  • June reaches her left hand under the back of Kim's neck and lifts up.
  • Step 6
  • June rolls to her back as she pulls Kim towards her.
  • Step 7
  • June flexes her right foot back, so that the tendon above her right heel is tight.
  • Step 8
  • June throws her left leg over her right foot, similar to a triangle position.
  • Step 9
  • June finishes the technique by pulling her right tendon down into the side of Kim's neck by folding her left leg downward.

once again i dont see the need to get fancey why not just push off the inside bicep lean back with all your weight and finish the armbar!!! its very easy and fast. when going for these type of tricky moves its not hard to let the other person get loose and then you just wasted your position and not to mention energy.

I didn't think it was all that fancy. It can basically be done in one fluid motion, and it's tough to see coming. Also, there are some people who will just not let go of that damn I say let them have it.

Nice, yet another alternative. I agree that there are plenty of ways to have them let go of their arm but why not know another option.
