Top Spin Omoplata defense
Some people will defend the triangle by wrapping their trapped arm around their opponent's leg. This will leave the defender open to the omoplata.
In this sequence, we will use this defense to set up for the top spin. It must be done quickly before your opponent can trap a leg or sit up and block your back.
Here is a vid of the technique with the step by step below:

Brett Starts to Lock a triangle on Eddie
Eddie Postures up
Eddie wraps his left arm around Brett's left leg - this gives Eddie a little breathing room as well as serving as a bait for the Omoplata
Brett takes the bait, and goes for the Omoplata
Eddie acts quickly, before Brett can sit up and block his back or grab Eddie's leg- Eddie posts his right hand on the ground and quickly moves his legs over Brett's head
Having saved his arm from the omoplata and clearing Brett's legs, Eddie secures his side control

cool very nice!!!
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow"
Never quite as easy as the video makes it look, but give it a try!
also-nice shorts guys!
Good setup for a star sweep recounter. A lot of times I'll bait the omoplata, knowing the guy's going to try to step over the head to defend, which sets him up nicely for the sweep.
"By their very nature all fighters are noble. Stripped to the waist they lay their souls open every time they enter the ring. Bravery, dreams, dread, toughness, fear, courage and at times even surrender are all on display for anyone who cares to watch"
Good move but move fast!!!
If you've been in one battle no matter what the out come of that battle you need not fear a hundred battles....
cool.
thanks.
Do I wanna fight?
Hell yeah I wanna fight!

Did I show you that one? I got that one from Erik Paulson myself.

Josh - probally.
I do this. It works well.
What I do is I stand almost in a vertical hand stand on my free arm then turn over.
The reason why I do this is because the opponent's inside
arm can grab my leg by hooking and pinning it to his chest
to control him. He does this to either sit up when ready,
or go for a Toe-Hold as his legs are locking down on that
shoulder, or he'll roll over to his belly to get my on my back as his comes around for a spinning back mount or spinning back armbar.
In this video, the guy jumps low over his head and as you
can see, the guy on the bottom can easily snatch his left leg with his right arm and go to work from there.
I love this Uma Counter. I'll either do this or roller over for a Uma Counter to Triangle as I catch him.
I'll post it later.

HuHu...a black belt did dz to me once... =(
The strong man is not the one who wrestles, but controls himself in a fit of rage.

I will definetly remember this one the next time we spar. THe only problem i hae is my friends dont know the omoplata yet... i guess i'll have to show them!
Wow, I had the chance to use this move about four times when I rolled this past week and it worked all four times. I must admit that I did bate my training partners with the triangle so that I could use the move.
Awesome, I really need a way to fend off triangles/triangle attempts.
They call me Hadoken 'cause I'm down-right fierce.
i really like this one. I've used it as well as had it used on me...as long as you do it quickly...there's no way they'll catch that leg. They're too slap happy that they got an oma on you! Or so they thought....muahhahahaha!
