Triangle to Armbar to Figure Four Armbar
![]() |
This is a nice flow from tri angle to armbar to figure four armbar. The last submission is great for defending the armbar stack defense or posturing up to defend the triangle! Have fun!!!

We start in guard with wrist control. Hips up to set up the...
passing or packing of the Joes hand between the legs.
After I get my leg over his shoulder, I pull it down tight to his back and control the head. I plant my foot on his hip.
I push off of Joe's hip to get the angle across the back of his neck with my calf. I try to bring my right foot as high as I can. Stay flat on the back, don't roll onto your hip. Keep control of his arm and pull it across your torsoe with you as you angle out.
Now with that angle, I should be able to lock up the TA without having to use my hand to pull the foot or shin in.
Next, I push Joe's head away with my hand and back of my right thigh as I swing my left leg over his head. You can just slip it over the head with these steps. I did it wide for illustrative purposes.
Basic armbar. Notice my feet crossed with the leg near his head on the bottom and my other is on top. The other way makes it easier for him to sit up and stack since the leg near the neck can't control the head.
Let's say he starts to stack, I rotate my hips inside and rotate my left shin across his face. My right leg is high and out of the way so I can...
lock it down over his shoulder. Keep the hand tight to the chest ready to slide it to the left or right as you push you hips into the elbow. If you have to, tilt your head to one side and roll over your shoulder as you push your hips to the mat.

Neat!
Could he catch your right leg with his free hand and pry it off in step 8?
thats what those guys were drilling, thanks!!!
sick arm bar at the end there! step 8 looks like it has potential to move into a gogoplatta? or is that too loose
"I don't care if it's God's own Anti-Son-of-a-B*tch machine or a giant hula hoop, we are not going to let them have it. What we will let them have is a belly full of lead, and a pool of their own blood to drown in!" - Sergeant Johnson
ya, gogo is sitting right there!
Jeremy Horn pulled that armbar off in a UFC fight didn't he? Great technique!!

Go right to gogo or loco from step 8. Or if step 9 isn't working, drop your hips and grab your foot! There it is.
gogo and loco have different names? can't find on the search engine.
i reckon gogo when ur in guard while loco in mount position...
neway nice flow, n dont 4get omoplata...
The strong man is not the one who wrestles, but controls himself in a fit of rage.

Very very nice.
one little add to step 3, something that works really well with MMA gloves - instead of just holding his right arm with your left, tuck his right wrist into your left armpit and clamp down. you can maintain your grip of his head, and great control of his right arm with just one of your arms (your right). this leaves your left arm free, to use as an additional grip, or anything else you want. very tight, very efficient, very nasty.
I actually do this same armbar, except that I bring the right leg to the other side of his head. Works great also if you go for a standard armbar and they pull the arm out, as an alternative for going for the triangle or omoplata.
"By their very nature all fighters are noble. Stripped to the waist they lay their souls open every time they enter the ring. Bravery, dreams, dread, toughness, fear, courage and at times even surrender are all on display for anyone who cares to watch"
def. one of my favorites
I"m going to try that finish - occassionally guys slip out of my triangle and it's time that they paid for their insolence.
LOL!!!
a locoplata is way different and well loco lol it has the left leg the same as step 9 like the gogo but then the left arm reaches behind the head and grabs the toes while the right foot pushes on the left heel and your right hand controlls their otherwise free left arm
