Two "Crash Landing" Attacks
![]() |
If you have been grappling for a bit of time, you have went for a "Side Choke" or "Arm Triangle choke" only to have your opponent grab their leg and turn away from you. I call this position the "Crash Landing" position. The reason I call it the "Crash Landing" is because it looks like that picture that the card in the back seat of the airplane next too the Sky Mall magazine that they want you to get in when your about ready to crash into a mountain (Like it will help). Grappling is way safer than flying, lol.
I have Chris in a Side Choke, but he hits the "Crash Landing" position
I bring my right knee into Chris's back
I step up with my left foot
I shave Chris's face to the mat with my left hand as I hook his right arm with my right
I drop my left knee on Chris's chin and pinch my knees together on his head - I now have "Head Mount"
I lock my arms together and attack the Kimura
If Chris locks his hands together on my Kimura attempt, I reach my left hand under his right arm and grab Chris's back
I keep my knees squeezed on Chris's head as I post my right hand to the mat behind my opponent
Keeping the knees squeezed, I lift my right leg a few inches off the mat, so that all my weight is on my left knee
I pivot on my left knee forcing Chris's chin to look behind himself until I get the tap.

love the head scissors! we just worked this flow a few weeks ago! great stuff!
This may sound dumb, but I've had a lot of sucess against this kind of stalemate just kinking the guy's head towards his trapped arm. Kind of a if you can't move his arm into his head, move his head into his arm philosophy.
Just a thought.
I really liked the split screen with the stills and the video - very creative.
Nice!
