Inverted De La Riva / Berimbolo To The Back

The "Berimbolo" is the "it" technique in grappling right now. Before the Berimbolo, it was the "Rubber Guard","The Peruvian Neck Tie", "The Twister" and before that it was "The D'arce". A long, long time ago the popular techniques of the day were "Reclaiming Guard", "Mount Escapes", "Position Control" and "Guard Passes".

I'm being a bit cynical in that top statement, but I'm stressing the importance of basics. It is cool however that our sport that we love is constantly evolving, providing new innovative techniques to practice and to be aware of.

So, with all that in mind, check out this video of BJJ Black Belt Yoshi Hasegawa and the team over at Phuket Top Team breaking down this unique Berimbolo back attack.

This isn't actually berimbolo, but awesome technique anyway.

I'm not a black belt, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
