Iron Gym
My review of the Iron Gym.
I went to Kohls and for thrity bucks got an Iron Gym to see if all the hype was worth it. I got home and set it up. The directions are pretty basic and it took me about ten minutes to set the whole thing up. One unique thing I found was that it gave you a small metal piece to hold the device in place, it doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence but does hold it in place. You do need to able to insert the metal piece into the opposite side of the top door frame.
I as well have one that requires you to drill six holes into two on each of the side of the door. It's metal and only marks it leaves are the holes.
Reality: While the device does say you can do push ups, chins, dips and varioius other hanging exercises. Doing dips with this device is a joke, push ups while can be done with the device are about as good as most push ups stands ( with the exception of the “pefect push up”). Chins ups are what this device is best for. I don’t have any hanging devices so I can’t judge that area.
I’d get the device if I was in an apartment or renting a room since it won’t leave any marks in the door frame. I would not do any form of plometric chin up on this device. I will say I prefer my fixed chin up bar that was like ten bucks but requires you to drill three holes on each side of the door way as it is far more secure. But for now it works.

Thanks, I was interested in this.
i also have this, it does its job, and i agree dips are kind of pointless to do on it. but other than that. i like it.

I had one in my old apartment. It worked, but it was a huge pain to set up. First off, the walls in the apt were too thin, like they used 2x4's going the narrow way, so I needed to build some shims to keep the bar in the proper position. Then, the door frame had been repainted so many times that it was no longer a corner, but like a gentle curve. So, I had to chip away all the old paint.
After all that, it worked fine. And the door frames in the apt were metal, so there's no way I could've used one of the screw in ones.
I have the screw-in kind in my current apt, and it's better.
We got one of these at my house a while ago and LOVE it. No problems setting it up or finding a good spot or anything like that. As soon as we got one, two of my friends got one for their places too.
thanks for the review!

If he says so, then it must be the case. He probably knows better. Let him try to take advantage of it, and And I will do my thing
I got one of these for my birthday and still have yet to try it out. It looks good. In the place I lived before I had one of those pull up bars you mentioned that required drilling three small holes in the doorframe on each side and it worked well. I will leave feedback on this piece of equipment once I use it.

I have the older piece of this (without the foam wraps for wide pull-ups, they came out with this one a month after I bought mine, bastards, it hurts to do wide pull-ups on mine) and the major advantage for this equipment is that it can easily be taken off the door frame and put away. I live in an apartment building and have pets , so when I'm done I just take this off and close the door . Easy!
I have it too. For pullups in the house, it gets the job done.

everlast has a similar item that offers more hand positions. it's pretty sturdy, i like.

Okay, on the day I was gonna get this I drive past a dumpster at my apartment and there is the awsome Gold's Gym Pullup/Dip/ Ab machine just sittin there, so in true Everett Dumpster Diving form I took it to my place and cleaned it up. I almost have a full gym.
