Arlington Submission Challenge #6! Aug. 21st
The Arlington Submission Challenge (ASC) is the fastest growing and newest event in grappling tournaments in WA State. Professional fighter and the owner or Arlington Kick-boxing Academy, Landon Showalter started the ASC in 2008. Landon’s goal is to provide the fastest and smoothest running grappling tourney in WA State.
The ASC scoring system was developed to push the pace of the competitor’s to finish with a submission rather to win on points alone. However, for the newer grapplers, The ASC scoring system will have a point system for all beginner and kids divisions. Points are awarded as follows, 2 points for takedown, all positions and passes. 4 points for back control and mount. Catches will be counted as 3 points.
With submission in mind... The Intermediate and advanced competitors can win their matches on submissions and control only! In the event it goes to a draw then there will be sudden death first one to score will win the match.
All in all we are striving to developing a new and exciting tournament circut where competitors have a more frequent place to compete in WA State. The final goal is to help grow grappling and MMA in WA state!
We at the ASC invite you all to come watch or compete at our next tourney Aug 21st at the Arlington High School located at 18821 crown ridge blvd Arlington WA 98223. You can get registered online @ www.ArlingtonKickboxingAcademy.Biz or in person Friday Aug 20th from 3 pm to 9 pm at AKA 21108 67th Ave NE #D Arlington WA 98223.
