NoGI' AT Shorts
www.NOGI.com
I have owned 2 pair of NoGi Industries OE and Echo for two years and have recently purchased the new Bone and Grill shorts. below is my review of all four NoGi shorts models.
NoGI OE short and Echo short
I purchased these short roughly two years ago. they arrived promptly and with correct sizing. I wear a size 34 and NoGi 36's fit me perfectly (about one half inch between the waistband and my waist).
Out of the packaging i noticed that the stitching was heavyduty and all logos were stitched into the Poly-stretch fabric. there were some minor stitching flaws here and there, but nothing that decreased function or appearance. They come just above the knee and fit like standard board shorts. the poly stretch material is wonderful as it allows full mobility without any binding. this is the advantage of these shorts over board shorts. Also the material these shorts ar made of is really soft and comfortable. These arent the quickest drying shorts on the planet, but they dry as quickly as any standard board short.
These shorts have been Surfing in Melbourne, wake boarding in the Florida Keys, sunning on South beach in Miami, Grappling six days a week MMA fighting and seen me through 7 tournaments. In two years, the only flaws are some color fading of the white, and deterioration of the Velcro. which may be my fault as they say to close the Velcro before washing the shorts (i never do).
I am extremely pleased with these shorts which is the reason why i purchased the two new models, The Bone AT and Grill AT.
Note: You can no longer purchase the OE and ECHO directly form NoGI. You can find them here http://www.budovideos.com/shop/customer/home.php?cat=599
NoGI BONE AT and GRILL AT
One of my favorite things about NoGI Shorts is that they are low profile. They dont say "TAP N SNAP" or "BREAK YO BACK" or "BLOODY CRANIUM" or "ATTRITION". theres no tribal, or brass knuckles, or blood spatters. I can wear these surfing or ride my longboard around town without looking like a total TOOL! In fact unless you train in Jiu Jitsu, you probably wouldnt even realize they are grappling shorts.
I ordered my new shorts on Monday and received them on Thursday in a priority UPS box. Talk about prompt. They Cost me $39.99 a piece From www.NOGI.com. Given the quality and the rising cost of board shorts and fight shorts, $40.oo is a great deal! They are very attractive shorts and have the same heavy duty stitching and embroidery and the OE and ECHO. Every logo is either embroidered or dyed into the fabric.
No sticker or iron ons here. they are stretchy and super soft, and i found no flaws. as before, 36 fit perfectly (i have a 34 waist). the only difference is the new shorts have a Lycra fly flap instead of an entire velcro strip. They are so nice, i almost dont wanna train in them :-)

If youre looking for a low profile, durable short that can do everything in and outside the gym. At a reasonable price, check out NoGI.

Excellent review. I've owned four pairs of No-Gi shorts and I think they are the best shorts you can buy. I also use them in and out of the gym, for the beach and for swimming (pool). My only complaint is; I wish there was two pockets and not just one. It's hard to get your keys, wallet and a cell phone into just one pocket.
Thanks for the review!
Great review. I own a pair of the Echos and absolutely love them for their versatility and, as you noted, their low profile, lack of "HEY LOOK AT ME!" factor. They're every bit as functional as my Sprawls, but I can wear them at the lake or just casually, outside of class, and not feel like a tool.

I own both the bone and grill ones and they are my favorite shorts.
Quick sizing question: My waist is roughly 31 inches. Should I order a size up and get a 32? Seems most grappling shorts are sized a little off.
Hi Matt. Their sizing is pretty spot on, so yes, I'd go up to the 32's.

Lovely, thanks.
These shorts look cool. I have both OE and Echo. They are better for the beach(nude) though. The 1" square velcro on the front comes open very easy. If the drawstring wasn't on them my shorts would fall off. You won't look like a tool with them, but you will feel like one when your fly pops open.
Hands up, chin down!
Finally got my Grill shorts. These things are friggin awesome. I haven't taken em off in three days. My waist is around 31" or so and these fit perfectly. I'll definately be buying more of these.
