KimuraWear's ReActive Headgear Review
KimuraWear was kind enough to send me headgear from their new ReActive line of training equipment. I don’t know if it was a random choice, or if someone there has seen some of my fights and decided I needed it. Either way I was excited to check out the gear.
The equipment came in a cool box, and when I pulled out the headgear some fellow training mates used the words "Sexy", "Fancy" and "That's Heat Son!" to describe the look. Im still not sure what "Heat" means, but I'm pretty sure it was a good thing.
This was a full faced headgear, meaning that the side and back of the head, forehead, cheeks, and chin were all padded. Two, opposite direction, double Velcro straps attached to a back-of-the-head pad, and another Velcro strap pulled the back of the gear up to ensure a snug fit. The Micro fiber suede lining was comfortable, and the outside leather was smooth- and I love the smell of new leather.
I had a little bit of difficulty putting the headgear on by myself, as a combination of 5 Velcro straps, and a pad, doesn’t work well with my two left hands- so I got some help from a buddy.
The gear was comfortably snug. So I decided to give it a test run. I asked Lockflow Capt. "Slick" to work some Ground-n-Pound drills on my new headgear for 3 x 3 minute rounds.
Slick was happy to help me out, as she punched, elbowed, cross faced and grinded the gear (with my head in it) for 9 minutes. Here is a video:
After the final bell (and a few not so-light strikes), I had no bruises, cuts, scrapes or concussions. The ReActive headgear also has ear covers which was nice for the protection of my Dumbo-like features.
The temperature inside the Headgear was warm, and I was anxious to get it off, but not unlike every other time I've worn the full face. So I decided to let a fellow MMA'er named "Waz" try out the gear.
Waz likes full faced protection; he owns a similar Title headgear, so I thought I'd get his thoughts. Waz liked the ReActive fit; it was snug on his head without smashing his face. He also said it had better vision than his old piece.
I liked the headgear, but knew I would probably not use it due to the style, so I gave it to Waz, Waz is now very happy. If you'd like to be very happy too, check out KIMURAWEAR.com the ReActive Headgear sells for 89.99. They have a fulline of Reactive training gear and some very cool shorts and shirts too!
Thanks to the guys at KimuraWear for letting me try out their gear! Also check out the Kimurawear Battle Torn shirts available in our Lockflow Shop!

I'm a ninja, she's aninja...wouldn't you like to be a ninja too?
ya, it's pretty cool!
I'm not a big fan of full face head gear due to the lack of visibility but after this review I will have to check this one out.
Being attacked is like being asked a question- if you answer right you won't get asked anymore questions.
