Sambo Leg Locks for No-Gi Grappling
Most of the Lockflow community is familiar with Reilly Bodycomb, he has been sharing his techniques with us for a few years now and representing Lockflow on the competition mats.
So it came as no surprise to me that his first DVD release,"Sambo leg locks for NO-GI Grappling" turned out to be my favorite leg lock instructional so far.
Most Leg Lock instructionals cover the vast array of different holds available, Reilly's focuses more on lower body positioning. In this DVD you will learn different leg control positions as well as drills and tactics.
One of the things that I was most impressed with, was how this DVD showed the application of the Achilles lock to increase the damage to the foot and knee instead of simply "stretching" the foot back.
The quality of the DVD is very good, and it's filmed as Reilly is teaching a seminar. This allows us to see Reilly walking through the classroom and correcting techniques and positions.

awesome instructional! The thing I appreciate about the DVD is that for once you feel like there aren't any glaring holes in a leg-lock based strategy. Usually, instructionals show moves, or control positions, but not an entire system - and everything fits together. This DVD provides the tools to go out and develop a leg lock GAME, instead of some leg lock moves.

Reilly, have you thought about doing a Sambo Takedown dvd?
sambosteve is going to come out with a DVD soon on four jacket grips that lead into multiple throws each and immediately followed by multiple submission options. it will be called 'Sambo: From Grip to Sub' and it will be awesome.
if i was to do another DVD it would be on the flying and rolling entrances i like to use and teach that lead directly from standing into a submission. it would probably be both with the kurtka and no-gi. there is not a lot of detailed material on this subject, and i would like to seriously explain set ups, follow ups, and details of a few of my favorite dynamic entrances, including competition footage of myself, my team mates, and other sambo grapplers who have used them well in competition.
but that will be quite a while from now. this dvd has only been out for a few weeks =)

I ripped it to my iPhone for regular study. So far it's amazing! Very in depth and I feel I can much more fully understand the leg approaches. Very well laid out!
