Secrets of the GI DVD Review

Secrets of the Gi with Ricardo Arrivabene:
I bought this video at Panams at the budo videos booth this year because it looked interesting and I am a gi guy and thought it may be good to add some more gi specific chokes.

Overall the video is good- the production quality is not the highest but it does get the job done. Ricardo and his brother Eduardo explain all the technique in portuguese and this as an off camera narrator which works great. They typically explain the technique while they are showing the first time, then change camera angles a few times and repeat in slow motion so you do get to see each setup from a few different angles. The entire dvd is only 39 minutes long which I thought was a bit short considering how much space is available on a dvd and with the amount of times they repeat each technique there is not a ton of techniques covered, but enough to make me happy with my purchase. There were 13 techniques that I counted which in 40 minutes is a pretty good turn over.

The techniques themselves for the most part are awesome. There are some really cool tricky variations of the baseball bat choke, some turtle chokes, and some guard stuff. For the price (it was $25 I think) it is a great value with some awesome techniques.
