TITLE Classic Weighted Bag Gloves
I wanted to work on my hand speed and punching power so I decided to try out some weighted gloves. I ordered the TITLE Classic Weighted Bag Gloves. The description from TITLE's online store reads as follows:
"Awesome all-leather bag gloves with wrap-around hook-and-loop closure for a snug, secure fit. Zippered back wrist area allows for up to 4 weights per hand to be added for extra aerobic conditioning. Total weight of both gloves with all weights equals approximately 3.5 lbs. 8 weights provided - four per glove."
Upon slipping into the gloves for the first time, I noticed that the inner lining seemed to be quite loose and it bunched up a little in the end of the glove at my finger tips. I thought it may have just been a case of being so used to my Fairtex gloves and I would get used to the way these felt.
I tried them out with the boxing CD from the Bas Rutton Mixed Martial Arts Workout set. In this workout, Bas calls out various punches and numbered combinations to be executed against air, as in shadowboxing, or against a bag. Bas leads you through seven three-minute rounds in this workout.
About halfway through, I noticed that it was becoming more difficult than normal to keep up and my hands were falling lower and lower. The gloves were working exactly as I had hoped.
I probably do one of Bas's seven round workouts two or three times a week. I also do roughly the same amount of mitt work each week. Essentially I put 30 to 50 rounds of work into these gloves each week and up to 200 rounds a month.
In the month that I have owned these gloves I have noticed a decent improvement in my ability to tag my sparring partners. More importantly, I have noticed that I am keeping my hands up a lot more.
Unfortunately, though I am seeing improvement with the gloves, they are falling apart from the inside out. First, within about two weeks, the inner lining on both gloves began to come apart at the seams. Then, a few days ago, a mysterious white, sand-like substance was coming out of the right glove. I don't know what the sand-like substance is because the weight is provided by four little metal bars in the cuff of the glove. I have never taken my gloves outside or anything like that.
A couple of other people in my gym bought the same gloves and have had similar issues with the inner lining. I have decided to try to return them and look into other weighted glove options.
Pros:
They seem to have helped me with my hand speed and general posture.
Cons:
Poorly manufactured. They don't last long.

Great review, Thanks Joe!
Thanks for the review I was thinking about getting a pair of those glove, maybe I'll get the ringside power bag gloves or the title power weighted super bag gloves instead.
One of my training parners has the TITLE Power Weighted Super Bag Gloves and they seem to be much higher quality. He actually added extra weight to his too. I think they are a good way to go.

Ummm... why not just get some wrist weights? cheaper, same principal; you can adjust the weight.
