Rousey Wins 6th Straight Fight in A Row by Armbar
Women's MMA my have a new star on the rise, this weekend Ronda Rousey won her 6th straight fight by armbar. What makes this feat even more impressive is that each one of her victories has been within the first minute of the opening bell!
Being impressive is nothing new for the fighter that goes by the moniker "Rowdy", who in 2008 became the first woman to win a medal in Judo at the olympics since the inception of the sport.
In saturday's Strikeforce Challengers:18 event, it took Rowdy just 25 seconds to defeat northwest fighter Sara D'Alelio. Rhonda quickly locked up an armbar and Sara began screaming in pain, forcing referee Steve Mazzagatti to stop the bout.
Lockflow is all about submission holds that end fights, so Lockflow is all about Ronda Rousey, way to go girl!

So many different versions about what happened. D'Alelio claims she did not submit, but I'm much more inclined to believe she did. I haven't seen the fight yet.

I think it's a clear win for Ronda.
No tap, weak argument for a verbal submission.

Here's something else to consider...Mazagati has messed up so many times before and is one of the most hated refs on PPV MMA television especially by the UFC CEO's.

Mazzagatti should not be allowed referee.
Don Frye for president!

taht was a super cool entrance to the armbar... but yeah... no tap.
dang.
No one has mentioned the Ref's job to protect the fighter. If Steve M thought the armbar was on solid, it doesn't matter if she tapped or not. We are so used to seeing the tap, or hearing the callout, but remember Tim Silvia's arm? I don't know if Steve called it because of the verbal, or because he thought the arm would break. It would be interesting to see another angle.
Sarah said in the post fight interview, "I didn't say tap, i said AAAHHHAHH, AAAAAGGGG" In all the US pro fights ive been to, the ref says that if you yell out when your in a submission, they will stop the fight.
If Steve heard her yell than it was a solid stoppage, If he didn't, and listened to Ronda.. well thats a different issue.
Best line I've heard regarding the situation
"If a grunt is a tap, I've had people tap out while punching me in the face."
Kyle, thats true also....
Kyle and Chaz have both brought this subject to a screeching halt. I agree with both parties LOL!
