ToeZup Fight Gear Review
Toezup Fight Gear Review
Fight Gear companies tend to fall into two categories.
1) Big companies that make quality products and are cashing in on the popularity of
MMA by selling ridiculously overpriced gear.
2) Companies run by people who genuinely love the sport and offer reasonably priced
gear that is a little lower on the quality scale.
ToeZup is one of the few fight gear companies that fits into neither of these categories. They make great quality gear and you’d be hard pressed to find a better deal. Even better than that is that after talking to Tony at ToeZup (who was generous enough to provide me with a few samples) I got the distinct impression that these guys just love the fight game. They are fans first and really love every kind of combat sport, from MMA to boxing to wrestling and everything in between. ToeZup offer a variety of t-shirts, hats, hoodies, women’s clothes and rash guards that are all emblazoned with the company logo and look pretty sharp.
What I love most from this company though, is their shorts. I have the white Gemini model shorts (see picture) but they have two other models as well. These shorts look great, fit well, and are very durable. They also have two features that set them apart from other fight shorts. Most fight shorts have a double Velcro closure that closes horizontally across your waist. No matter what you do with the shorts you always end up with the edge of the Velcro scratching against your skin. I hate that. The ToeZup shorts have a vertical closure that comes inside the shorts and totally covers the Velcro. You won’t feel the Velcro at all and those suckers are not coming undone. The other feature I really like is that in addition to the standard leg slits that offer mobility for kicking and ground work, these shorts have a mild stretch when pulled sideways. Not a lot, just enough to give you some extra room when you’re hunting for that gogo or putting your flippers in on your butterfly guard. The shorts don’t however stretch vertically, they are tough as any other pair I’ve seen. If you are tired of paying fifty bucks for a pair of good fight shorts, give these ones a go… they’ll run you just under thirty bones and can hang with any of the other big names as far as quality goes.
ToeZup has some well known fighters such Pete Spratt and Marcus Hicks on their roster as well as a slew of young, up and coming fighters that could make a big impact in the near future. The ToeZup logo has already made appearances in some pretty big name events and should continue to do so for a while.
