Tyson Griffin: Back to His Finishing Ways
From ADCombat.com
When Tyson Griffin battled Frankie Edgar at UFC 67, it was the first time in his professional career that his hand wasn’t raised after the fight. After that fight, Tyson experienced a close call when he out-pointed Clayton Guida by split decision at UFC 72. Those last two fights were the only decisions of his ten-fight career. Vowing not to let the next one go to the judges’ hands, Griffin if ready to get back to his finishing ways, stating with Thiago Tavares. Here is what Griffin told ADCC News about his upcoming bout and the lightweight steroid scandal.
ADCC: Your last fight against Clayton Guida was a back-and-forth fight of the year candidate. How grueling was that fight and were you a little bit worried that the decision could have went the other way?
TYSON: It wasn’t that tough physically, but it definitely had my lungs and heart rate pushed to the max. I was a little worried about the fight going the other way because I finished the fight on bottom. I knew I controlled most of the fight and landed some good strikes, but I never want to finish on bottom and for that I was a little disappointed in my performance.
ADCC: After suffering your first professional loss to Frankie Edgar in February, how good does it feel to get back on the winning track?
TYSON: It feels good man, I brush off my wins and losses quick as possible because dwelling in the past only holds you back. I'll tell you this though, I definitely didn’t want two losses in a row, no matter how exciting of a fight.
