About Me

i started my martial arts career in 2000 as a high school wrestler. i was awful my freshman year, but after a little hard work closed out my senior year with a pretty good record and a regional championship at heavyweight (i was a natural 215-lb'er back then). when i went away to college, i missed grappling. i found the old panther bas rutten instructionals and taught myself submission holds. when i returned home i joined a bjj gym and helped coach my old wrestling team. now i study judo, but knee injuries have seriously hindered my quality mat time. i'm set to have my second ACL reconstruction soon. Hopefully i'll be able to get back on the mats and train hard in the future, as i would like to one day challenge myself with a mma match.
